Games-to-Films that might be in Development

According to the IGN movies section, there is a update on the big list of games becoming films, and believe me, there is plenty to expect and look forward to, here is a list of games-to-films that are in development or soon to be so:

  • American McGee’s Alice
  • Army of Two
  • Asteroids (Pre-production)
  • BioShock
  • Castlevania
  • Citizen Siege (Oddworld Movie)
  • Clock Tower
  • Dead Space
  • Driver
  • Fallout (Possibly)
  • Gears of War
  • God of War
  • Halo
  • Heavy Rain
  • Hitman 2
  • In the Name of the King 2 (Dungeon Siege)
  • inFamous
  • Just Cause
  • Kane & Lynch (Pre-production)
  • Lost Planet
  • Mass Effect
  • Mechwarrior
  • Missile Command
  • Myst
  • Red Dead Redemption
  • Shadow of the Colossus
  • Shattered Union
  • Silent Hill: Revelation 3D
  • Uncharted
  • Warcraft

There are also a bunch of games-to-films that have been optioned (such as the Devil May Cry movie), stalled (such as The Suffering movie) or put on hold (such as the Metal Gear Solid movie) and there are many that are cancelled (such as the Mortal Kombat movie due to legal dispute) and dormant (such as the Deus Ex and Duke Nukem movies). Most on this development list are just waiting for the green light to start producing of their movies.

Some of these I’m really looking forward to and some I’m not-so looking forward to, expect to start seeing some of this list on the cinemas from later this year to 2013 but god knows when any of them will still be in production in the upcoming months and years.
