Overall – I was telling a friend the other day that I fear for this Wrestlemania being like the 25th anniversary PPV where there are high calibur matches but all were weak in the actual match, this turns out to almost be just like it and like the 25th WM, it was the Undertaker’s Streak match that saved the day

I suspect that the second Rock/Cena match wouldn’t be as alluring as last year’s WM as everyone thought it was just going to be the “Once In A Lifetime”, oh how the WWE love to play with us, not to mention I hear that Rock might get involved in the build up to Wrestlemania 30

I really think that the Undertaker’s Streak has gone on for long enough, Taker should have retired it at 20-0 but I hear that Taker was in need of some funding so they gave him this match as a jackpot for him, I watched on TV not long ago that Taker was coming to the UK on the WM Revenge Tour for the first time in 4 years, as nice is that was, he should really retire his career if he is to not do himself too much damage as he is getting quite old now

Overall – This was a good SummerSlam, not fantastic but was very watchable, all matches had plenty of highs and lows so I can’t really say which match was the best, some results were surprising however in my opinion such as the HHH/Brock match, I thought that Brock was going to be one of these heels where he dominates during the shows but looses on PPVs so it will be interesting how this plays out….

WWE Raw 30/1 – Undertaker Returns!

January 31, 2012 Leave a comment

He has finally returned!!!

At the end of the 30th January edition of WWE Raw, we witnessed the return of The Undertaker, The Phenom, The Deadman, a man that requires so little words and has so many names, and he looks….a little different to be honest….

Just when Triple H was about to, what seemed like, fire John Laurinaitis from the WWE, the gong sounded and the arena went blank and then Undertaker’s music hit, the man himself approached the ring in his usual slow fashion, HHH had his eyes fixed on Taker through the whole thing while John made a run for it.

Undertaker and HHH got up face to face, Taker then looked up at the Wrestlemania XXVIII sign, looked back at HHH and did a slit throat taunt, expecting HHH to answer his challenge for what looked like a 3rd encounter at Wrestlemania, all HHH did was walk past him and patted his shoulder and walked off, made a brief pause at the ramp and then went backstage.

This might mean that HHH doesn’t want to face Undertaker at Wrestlemania but we will see how things play out in the coming weeks…. It is good to see the Undertaker back in the WWE although one thing puzzles me about his appearance….

…. Did anyone notice his weird hair style, looks like he was wearing a wig, might just be me

Winner – Alberto Del Rio

Overall – Plenty of surprises and pretty good PPV, the last half of the PPV gained the most ground and had the best matches, those who remember the Brock Lesner/Big Show nostalgia with the ring breaking should be surprised that it could never be repeated and the fact that Alberto/Cena match still went on with a broken ring was pretty daring but good showings all round!

Overall – The first half fell a little flat but the second half made up for it, although I think the HHH/Punk match went on for a bit too long even though it was one of the best matches of the night. Nice to see Beth have a match in her hometown, shame she lost though, rare that someone loses in their hometown, WWE needs to give another Diva the top spot for a change.

Next PPV – Hell In A Cell
